Self portrait?

Welcome to my homepage.

This page contains a portofolio of my 3D artwork, a resume and some links.

I am a Norwegian student currently working on my thesis. I am studying for a master in engineering with the specialty in computer graphics and virtual reality. (With a particular interest in game development)

Please enjoy my images, and if you want to use the images for a non comercial use, feel free. I would be gratefull if you let me know.

New Feb 7: Proposal @ Space Generation Summit. - Moon exploration.

The result of my groups work at SGS:
The Space Generation Summit (SGS) gathered over 200 international students and young professionals to develop a youth vision and strategy for the peaceful uses of space. In conjunction with the World Space Congress, (WSC) this conference was endorsed by the United Nations and took place from October 11 through 13th. Delegates discussed ongoing youth space activities, particularly those stemming from the UNISPACE-III and Space Generation Forum conferences, held concurrently in Vienna, 1999, and taken forward by the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC). Delegates addressed a variety of topics with the goal of creating new recommendations according to the theme, 'Accelerating Our Pace in Space'. The Human Exploration of the Moon working group investigated methods of accelerating our pace in the direction of lunar exploration and settlement. The material presented here and in other technical sessions throughout WSC includes the findings of these discussions. (read more)

Nov 22: More plant algoritms - for TGE.
You cannot have a forest without proper grass.

Vertex coloring of the grass.
You can now use 1 gray texture to allow you to make any colored grass you like. (e.g. Make the grass yellow during winter and green during spring.)
You can have different colors on the top than bottom of the grass elements. (like brown to green)

Circular and Squared distribution area.
The circular area distrobution tends to have a higher density in the middle than the edges.
The squared distribution area distributes the grass elements quite evenly over the given area.

Grass/crop row orientation
To allow rows of crops or wheat fields, it is possible to toggle between random and specified orientation. (Specify angle between 0-360)

Terrain curvatured placement
The grass elements are much like the foliage elements in the fxFoliageReplicator, except they are generally longer. This caused the grass elements to stick out of the sloped terrain. The code now does a double collision test to adjust the grass elements to the curves of the terrain.

Nov 14: Game engine implementation

I have created some models for Adellion, that also add some nice elements to the testworld that I'm working on for my thesis.

Oct. 2: Preview on my thesis progress.

I have managed to get the first milestone in my thesis completed. Each tree is unique and generated from a L-system.

Sept. 27: Sci.fi. short story about maglev launch.
In order to illustrate how a possible space launch with a magneto levitation cannon would work, I wrote a little somthing about it. (full story)

Sept. 23: Results from the hypergravity experiment.
The Danish center for animal experiments would not give me a license to test my experiments on sharks. They reasoned that the fish might suffer psycologically.

Shrimps and Crabs are not vertebraes and thus not protected by any laws, and so they were used instead.

I hoped to prove that they would survive at 50G, but it turned out that I could not find the maximum acceleration they could sustain! The centrifuge could accelerate the payload up to 83G, and at 83G the shrimps were still vividly jumping around in the water.

Preliminary report: (Click here)

For a long time I have dreamt of rotating a shark....Now, I'll do it, and hopefully present it at the World Space Conference in October. (Thanks to ESA for inviting me)

After 2 years of doing realistic/medieval stuff I needed to do somthing futuristic.....
